SUBJECT: The Pest Control Store’s Director Teaches Class for UGA Cooperative Extension Service

Georgia – Tuesday, July 14, 2009 – The Pest Control Store’s Director, Ray Hess, taught a class for the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension service here in Perry, Georgia recently.

Mr. Hess is a state instructor and was requested by the area’s Extension Agent to develop and teach a class on Pesticide Formulations and Mixing at their Pesticide Use, Safety, and Handling training seminar to about 80 attendees. The attendees included pest controllers, landscapers, school maintenance personnel, Department of Agriculture personnel, Department of Natural Resources personnel, and others. He used various examples of everyday items to show the different formulations such as chocolate milk to show wettable powder mixing and separation. Another aspect that was useful was that he had brought in examples of various products that are sold in The Pest Control Store, such as Demon WP, Suspend SC, and Conquer, to show the audience the different formulations. They responded very well because they were looking at things they see and use everyday. Some attendees actually knew Mr. Hess because they shop in the local Pest Control Store in Warner Robins so that familiarity was evident too. Future classes are being developed and according to the responses they’ve had should be well anticipated.
