SUBJECT: Peachtree Pest Control Continues to Support the UGA Cooperative Extension Service

Georgia – Friday, May 07, 2010 – A divisio0n of Peachtree Pest Control, The Pest Control Store’s Director, Ray Hess, taught a class for the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service here in Perry, Georgia.

Mr. Hess is a state instructor and was requested again by the area’s Extension Agent to develop and teach a class on Planning the Pesticide Application at their Pesticide Use, Safety, and Handling Training seminar to about 70 attendees. The attendees included pest controllers, landscapers, school maintenance personnel, Department of Agriculture personnel, Department of Natural Resources personnel, and others. The class covered the various aspects of proper planning and considerations that should be used and practiced for a pesticide application. He used various examples of everyday safety items to show the different types of safety gear available for use and covered why it should be used. He also showed how to do jar tests for chemical incompatibility testing and performed examples such as mixing chocolate milk to show wettable powder mixing and separation. They responded very well because some attendees actually knew Mr. Hess being they shop in the local Pest Control Store in Warner Robins plus they get CEU hours which they need to maintain their state registration or certification.
